Silica Refractory Brick
Silica fire bricks are acid-cured refractory materials. The national standard GB/T2608-2025 stipulates that the finished product should have a SiO₂ content of ≥93%, with the mainstream product having a SiO₂ content of 94%–97.5%.
Raw materials: High-purity quartzite (raw ore with SiO₂ ≥96%), with lime and iron filings added as mineralizers, and waste pulp as a binder.
Production process: Raw material crushing → batching and mixing → machine pressing → low-temperature drying → high-temperature firing at 1350–1430℃.
Mineral composition: Main crystalline phases are tridymite and cristobalite, with a small amount of residual quartz + trace amounts of glassy phase (the higher the proportion of tridymite in high-quality silica bricks, the better their performance).
Characteristics of Silica Fire Bricks
High quality glass silica brick kiln, has high silicon content, melting index lower characteristics. Widely used in glass kiln of breast wall, condole top, is obtained. The temple, the upper structure and small furnace of regenerator is obtained.
High temperature resistance and strong load-bearing capacity
Refractoriness 1690～1730℃, load softening temperature 1620～1680℃, resistant to deformation under high temperature and pressure, making it the preferred material for high-temperature kiln arches and load-bearing walls.
Resistant to acid corrosion
Resistant to acidic slag, SO₂, and silicate melt corrosion, but not resistant to alkaline slag (strong alkalis such as CaO and soda ash easily corrode silica bricks).
High temperature micro-expansion sealing
Expansion of 1.5%～2.2% at 1450℃, automatically filling brick joints, ensuring good airtightness of the masonry, and preventing high-temperature shrinkage cracking.
High thermal conductivity
Excellent thermal conductivity, facilitating heat transfer within the kiln, suitable for coke oven heat storage and glass kiln heat exchange conditions.
